The television series Blue Bloods is wrapping up its run. After debuting on CBS in 2010, the series will end with its current 14th season.

On Instagram, series star Vanessa Ray shared an image of herself embracing co-stars Donnie Wahlberg and Maria Ramirez. She also added the message, “Last day feels. I love them so much it hurts.” Another Instagram post shared by Wahlberg included a message he wrote about his experience working on Blue Bloods. While the actor noted his difficulty in coming up with the right words to cap it off, he expressed how thankful he is for everyone involved with the series, from the cast and crew to all of the fans who’d watched over the past 14 years.

“Not sure I have the words to describe how I feel about today, or the last 14 years on this special Blue Bloods journey, but I do know how incredibly thankful I am for every moment of it,” he said. “To the cast, the crew, the guest cast, every background actor, writer, producer and every member of every single dept — thank you. To the people of New York, in every neighborhood and borough, thank you for always showing your love. To the NYPD, thank you for your support and sacrifice, I hope we did you proud.”

Donnie Wahlberg Says the Support of the Fans Is One of Life’s Great Blessings

He added, “Lastly, to my fans, and the fans of this show. We don’t make it 14 days (nevermind 14 years) without you! Your love and support for this show has been one of the great blessings of my life. Thank you.”

Blue Bloods was created by Robin Green and Michael Burgess. The police procedural drama series follows the members of the Reagans, a family of law enforcement officers. It boasts an ensemble cast that includes Wahlberg, Ray, Ramirez, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, and Tom Selleck.

“Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes,” Selleck said in a statement when it was announced in 2023 that Blue Bloods was coming to an end. “Thank you to CBS Studios and the CBS network for their steadfast support, and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”

The series finale of Blue Bloods will air in December 2024 after the show returns with the second half of Season 14 in October.
