The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is certainly off to a rocky start. With so many separations ongoing, you can’t help but wonder if it should be called the Ex-Housewives of Beverly Hills. Now, PK Kemsley is facing a different sort of backlash following the RHOBH Season 13 premiere.
The most recent purported pair to split up are PK and Dorit Kemsley. It was revealed that they had broken up, and he was now staying at a hotel. The pair swiftly refuted those rumors. But it wasn’t this that caused PK any problems in the RHOBH debut. Rather, it was his attempt to reconcile the female cast members following a difficult year by approaching a visitor that Dorit had invited to the house.
A bit of a rude welcome
In the first episode of RHOBH Season 13, Dorit welcomed an intuitive healer into their house. The duo were introduced to the native alchemist as Eaglewoman. Both she and her companion were welcomed by Dorit and her spouse, PK. PK turned to face the woman’s friend after hearing her name and inquired, “Have you got a name like Eaglewoman as well?”
“I do,” the woman replied. “Blue Raven.”
And instead of politely acknowledging that, PK turned to his wife to almost troll their guests. “Blue Raven? Dorit, this is Blue Raven, also known as Nancy.”
Thankfully, Dorit was familiar enough with him to put an end to that. “Sorry, I’m just going to apologize right now for my husband,” she hurriedly stated, moving to stand between the guests and her husband. And once more, PK doubled down and stated, “Hey, that’s not right,” rather than just leaving it alone. I said nothing improper. It’s unbelievable that you’re defending me.
“Well, I have to bubba, because I’m petrified what’s going to come out of your mouth,” Dorit replied. Can’t say we blame her.
Instead of just taking the hint, PK continued by saying, “I don’t know if I should call you Eaglewoman, Eagle, or just Woman.” To which the alchemist politely and awkwardly laughed.
PK put his foot in it
In a confessional later on, Dorit admitted that PK had a bad tendency to not think before speaking. “He has a habit of putting his foot right in his mouth … jamming it down his throat,” she explained. And she wasn’t the only one upset by his attitude. Fans took to Reddit to share how they were appalled by his bad behavior and how he should be kinder to guests in his home.
“I was cringing,” one said. “This sweet lady and her culture/practices should not be a punchline. So disrespectful and hard to watch.”
“I feel bad for EagleWoman,” remarked someone else. This is her actual job; she is not a character on the show. Many more said that they were shocked by the degree of ignorance in 2023 and that PK ought to have shown greater consideration for other people’s cultures and guests staying in his home. We sympathize with PK and Dorit, and we know it must have been really challenging to shoot with your marriage in disarray, but it is still no justification for being impolite.
