Welcome to our coverage of Episode 1 of Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills! This season marks the absence of Lisa Rinna for us. It appears that there will be a lot of drama this season, despite our initial expectations that it would be milder than Season 12.

Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards are experiencing marital problems. Additionally, there are rumors that Mauricio was holding hands with his partner, Emma Slater, when he was participating on Dancing with the Stars. This season could perhaps delve into the reasons behind Kyle and Mauricio’s breakup. Let’s get started with the recap of RHOBH Season 13, Episode 1: “It’s Eaglewoman Landing.”

Dorit wanted to heal the group

Dorit Kemsley was excited that the spiritual healer, the Eaglewoman, was making a house call. Now if her husband, PK Kemsley, would just mind his manners. Dorit wanted to plan a healing retreat for her RHOBH co-stars. The Eaglewoman would take the ladies on “a vision quest.” It is worth noting that Dorit seemed annoyed whenever her husband spoke.

The cast headed to Malibu for the retreat. Sutton Stracke and Garcelle Beauvais had some misgivings. Kyle admitted that her relationships with the cast have changed since the reunion. Erika Jayne was sad that her best buddy, Rinna, exited the show. And viewers were treated to a copy of Rinna’s resignation email. Resigned- not fired. Now Erika is all by her lonesome.

Hormone controversy
Everyone immediately commented on Erika’s weight loss, which she blamed on hormones. Dorit brought up Ozempic in her confessional. Then a producer asked Erika if she was on Ozempic or Wegovy. She denied it, and suggested some of the other women could do with picking up the hormones she uses.

Erika questioned Dorit’s marriage … again

The women were really relaxed as they stood outside beneath a tent. I’m kidding. They appear uneasy. The women started to voice their complaints. That Erika had made a remark about Dorit’s marriage at BravoCon still infuriated her. Erika asserted that she attempted to sidestep the inquiry. Dorit thought Erika ought to have apologized. Erika instead questioned Dorit on the durability of her union with PK.

Sutton admitted in her confession that PK might have had a female passenger in the car the night he was stopped for driving under the influence. However, she has only ever heard that one rumor concerning Dorit and PK’s marriage.

A softer side of Erika

Erika pointed out that she was put through the wringer during the last two years. She apologized for her behavior and told her co-stars, “I love you all. And I’m very sorry.” Garcelle was happy to see Erika show her vulnerability. It was a refreshing change of pace. But is it because Rinna isn’t there to back her?

At the reunion, Kyle was quite emotional, and nobody tried to console her. It was Sutton and Dorit who hurt her the most. Kyle attributed the mayhem of the previous season to her sister Kathy Hilton. Not Rinna, Erika. With a collective hug, the women cap off the day. Erika later saw Dr. Mann for therapy. Tom Girardi, her estranged spouse, was charged with a crime. She was relieved that her name was left off of the indictment. But Erika’s co-stars don’t believe she’s out of the woods just yet. Part of the money was purportedly spent by her.

Erika also addressed her feelings about Tom getting older. She stopped taking Lexapro, so mixing the medication with alcohol won’t be an issue. Then Erika asked how to develop empathy for her friends. Isn’t that something that she should know by now?

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 Episode 1 Recap: Double marriage trouble?

Kyle went to Dorit and PK’s house for dinner. She hasn’t had a drop of alcohol for over seven months. Kyle saw Kathy at Sutton’s house two months earlier. Kyle pointed out that she did nothing to deserve Kathy’s wrath. Dorit empathized, talking about her struggles with PTSD since the traumatic home invasion. PK was spending a lot of time in London, and Dorit wondered if their marriage would survive.

Kyle admitted to having the same thoughts about her marriage to Mauricio. And so it begins. Dorit and PK are in therapy. During this time, she needed more support from her husband. And he didn’t come through for her.

Garcelle felt mom guilt

Garcelle brought her sons, Jax and Jaid, for a picnic at the beach. Garcelle has been shooting a show in Atlanta, but she misses her kids. Jax wants more freedom and doesn’t need Garcelle trying to mother him. When she asked if she wasn’t his mom when he needed her, he said, “Yes.”

Jax felt that there were times when he needed more from his mom than she gave. Garcelle was crushed.

No more tattoos?

Kyle was waiting for Mauricio impatiently while he spoke with his assistant Jane. Both he and Kyle have been working extremely hard. Mauricio complimented her appearance. He encouraged her to exercise and consume a balanced diet. Then he noticed her ankle had a tattoo. He was only aware of three of her tattoos; now she has five. “Well, maybe you should be looking at my body closer,” Kyle remarked. That conveys a great deal about their union’s situation.

Mauricio told her that five tattoos were enough. “I will not allow that,” he said when Kyle stated she may get another one. Bad news, Mauricio. Kyle is going to make her own decisions.

“You don’t have a choice,” Kyle replied. “I’m at a point in my life I don’t have to explain anything to anybody anymore. Including you.” Boom! Mic drop.

Buckle up, folks. We are in for a bumpy ride this season.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
