Is 2023 going to be the year that NCIS fans finally get their wish? In the 2016 Season 13 conclusion of the CBS drama, Michael Weatherly—who last appeared as Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo—clearly alluded to the idea. In response to a fan who commented on his New Year’s video, saying, “We all would rather look at you and Ziva reuniting and enjoying that moment,” he tweeted, “This could be an interesting year for such’moments.” Executive producer Steven D. Binder expressed excitement about Weatherly’s comeback when TV Insider met with him last spring.
“I would absolutely love to do something like that,” Binder stated. “That will be determined by Michael Weatherly. He and I had talked about it over the years, and he was always on Bull, and [since] he was on Bull, it just seemed strange and not right.” “The last conversation I had with him was that he’s going to take some time off and rest because he went from a very difficult schedule on NCIS to headlining his own show for six years, through C0V1D,” he added. It’s just a matter of whether it works out.” Tony had just found out that he and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), who was thought to be d3ad at the time, had a daughter when he left the team. Ziva then reappeared in the Season 16 finale, this time in the basement of Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon). She left off-screen to reunite with Tony and their daughter in Paris at the end of her four-episode return in Season 17. (As it turned out, they’d been in contact since her “d3ath.”)
Later in Season 17, Tony’s father, DiNozzo Senior (Robert Wagner), wrote to the crew to let them know that he and his family were in Paris. Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) disclosed, “It seems that NCIS has made him the ‘happiest pop-pop’ ever by reuniting Ziva with Tony and Tali.” In light of that, and Weatherly’s suggestion that we might actually see Tony and Ziva together on screen instead of simply learning about their lives, we’ve put together a list of things we would like to see. To learn more, scroll down. Tony and Ziva’s pairing Something we will never witness! Long before de Pablo left the show as a regular, “Tiva” had been hinted at. In that episode, they (eventually) shared their first kiss on screen.
While romance has never played a significant role in NCIS, we’re not suggesting that it should abruptly change into something else just to see the two together in a way that we’ve only heard about. A fresh update on Gibbs! After being referenced in the last episode of Season 19, Gibbs stayed in Alaska. However, learning more about him from the man who has collaborated with him from the start (the JAG backdoor pilot episodes!) would be fascinating. It’s unbelievable that Gibbs hasn’t gotten back to Tony and Ziva since then. Even if it’s simply that a phone conversation was made, something needs to be said considering what he represents to them both.
Tali, Tony, and Ziva The team watched a video of Tali when Ziva made an appearance in Season 17 and we saw Tony with Tali when he left. Additionally, we are aware that the three have remained as a unit ever since. Another thing, though, we haven’t seen on screen yet. Working on a case with the group First and foremost, we’d like to see Tony and Ziva’s reaction to McGee (Sean Murray) as a senior field agent who turned down the position of boss, as well as hear them mention how far he’s come because, despite everyone around him on a regular basis, only Palmer — and, to a lesser extent, Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) — saw him as a rookie. Plus, even if they’re only supposed to be “consulting” for some reason, it just wouldn’t be right to have them both around and not solving a cr1me (which is really them doing their jobs like they used to).
And we’ll have to wait and see what they think of Alden Parker (Gary Cole), the new leader! Tony and Torres’ feud is entertaining, as is the rematch between Ziva and Torres. There has to be some sort of conflict between Tony and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) when they meet for the first time. Furthermore, Ziva and Torres discussed rematching their fight.
Details of Tiva’s life in Paris What have they been doing specifically? How do they make their living? Every week, is there a dating night? Let’s hear about the tiny things they were unable to accomplish while working in Washington, D.C. for NCIS. There is, at the absolute least, discussion of seeing the twins at McGee’s. It would be fantastic if we could see Tony, Ziva, McGee, and Delilah (Margo Harshman) at the dinner table, with Tali and the twins in the background… But, if we can’t, let the episode end with that as the plan before Tony and Ziva leave D.C. At least a few references to previous episodes Let’s talk about the time they went undercover (in Season 3’s appropriately titled “Under Covers”). Let’s see how Tony reacts to the fact that he has the plague (from Season 2’s “SWAK”). We don’t need a reference for every scene, but five or six would be ideal.
