Brianna and the kids went through the stones in Outlander season 7. Will she make it back to Roger?

Brianna found out where Roger is in the past in Outlander season 7, episode 15. Will we see the two and the children reunite in the Outlander season 7 finale?

At the end of Outlander season 7, episode 15, Brianna took Mandy and Jem to the stones. It was time to travel to the past to Roger, especially now that Brianna knew where in time Roger was. Yes, it’s dangerous, but it’s actually safer than staying in 1980 with Rob Cameron after them.

However, Mandy ran toward the stones alone. Bree and Jem had to run after her, and they have all gone through the stones separately. What happens now?

There’s more to the time travel in the Outlander books

The TV series has had to cut a lot out. I did suspect that the series would cut out the character Mr. Menzies, the principal of the school. This man turned into a friend of the MacKenzies, and he was there at the stones when Bree and the children went through.

As Many ran to the stones, Jem grabbed her. Both actually went through but Jem managed to pull Mandy back to Brianna. They lost their gems though, used up by the stones, and Mr. Menzies broke a gem in his ring in half so that the two could try again—this time safely with Brianna.

Of course, there’s a lot in the books that isn’t overly necessary for the TV series. There was a lot from Written in My Own Heart’s Blood cut out, and it makes sense when you consider just how little time there is to tell the story from the books.

Will Brianna get back to Roger with the children in Outlander season 7?

In the books, they all get to 1739. I can see the series playing out the same way. Having Mandy run through the stones is simply a way to create drama at the end of the episode, leaving us wondering whether the three will get back to Roger together or not.

If there were more seasons to come, maybe the show could have put Mandy in a different time to the others. It would lead to Bree getting back to Roger and the two trying to find Mandy. However, there isn’t enough time in the series for this, and it would be a huge deviation from the books—and we all know what some of the book purists out there are like!

Instead, I have a feeling that the Outlander season 7 finale is going to end the way the eighth book ends. Roger will be reunited with his family and the four will decide it’s time to get back to 1778 and to Claire and Jamie.

Outlander season 7 finale airs on Friday, Jan. 17 on STARZ.
