Home and Away has confirmed a double kidnapping as Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson’s comeback takes a terrifying turn.
It was confirmed in October that real-life couple Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor would reprise their roles as Ziggy and Dean for a “top-secret” storyline, with filming taking place in Queensland late last year.
The Aussie soap has now shared a trailer teasing their return, which sees Mackenzie take a trip to Queensland with Levi to reunite with Dean and Ziggy, who left Summer Bay in 2023 following the birth of their daughter Izzy.
While Dean is initially thrilled to see his half-sister, the excitement is short-lived when he’s introduced to Mackenzie’s new boyfriend Levi.
“Good to finally meet you,” says Levi, to which Dean remarks: “Is it? He’s already cheated on one woman. How do I know he’s not going to do the same thing to Mack?”
The two men continue to butt heads, before things take a terrifying return when Mackenzie and Ziggy are kidnapped by two escaped prisoners.
Putting their differences aside, Dean and Levi work together to track down and save their girlfriends.
Commenting on her return as Ziggy last year, Dillman said: “It feels so good to be home!”
“I can’t wait for the action, and for fans to see this storyline play out,” added O’Connor.
Dean and Ziggy moved to Queensland with their daughter Izzy in March 2023 after Dean received the bad news that his ex, Amber, was moving there with their son, Jai.
Following their exits, both Dillman and O’Connor shared goodbye messages reflecting on their time in the Bay.
