Sam Heughan was in Edinburgh over the weekend as he kicked off his birthday celebrations early, and squeezed in some ‘Michelin starred carb-loading’ as he prepares to take on the London Marathon.
Outlander star Sam Heughan marked his birthday at an Edinburgh restaurant over the weekend.
Heughan stopped off at The Kitchin in Leith to have an early celebration, ahead of his 45th birthday on April 30. The ‘Michelin starred carb-loading’ comes ahead of the actor taking on the London Marathon.
Sam has had a friendship with Tom Kitchin for several years now, working together on different projects.
Posting to Instagram, Sam said: “Early Birthday Scran from the best of Scotland!
“Thank you Tom Kitchin and whole crew for the incredible experience! Michelin starred carb-loading for London Marathon.”
Tom Kitchin replied: “Happy birthday bro! Smashing 45.
One fan commented: “Happy early birthday to you, my favourite actor!”
Another added: “No better spot to celebrate!”
A third posted: “Happy early birthday, Sam! The Kitchin, so yummy!”
Sam has been visiting the popular eatery for years now, having partnered up with Scotland’s youngest ever Michelin Star Winner Tom Kitchin to supply his own brand of whisky at the Edinburgh restaurant.
The pair were also snapped filming together in Edinburgh back in May 2022. Sam was spotted filming in Tom Kitchin’s Edinburgh restaurant as part of his Starz documentary series with fellow Scot, Graham McTavish, titled Men In Kilts.
