The actor Tony DiNozzo is coming out with a new record. Michael Weatherly, a former cast member of NCIS, has been concentrating on his music career lately and plans to release a brand-new album in time for the holidays. The actor released the music video for his song “Wings of Wax & Wood,” the lead single from his upcoming album, via X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter.

Michael wrote in the caption: “This Christmas, a full album (cute phrase) is coming out. This is my debut publication. A song about a world on the edge, about Icarus. Here’s where the journey continues: Wings of Wax & Wood.”

Fans heaped praise on the track in the comments section and expressed their excitement over the upcoming release.

Someone said, “Wonderful! This video is ideal for me because of the magnificent scenery, the lyrics, the beat, your voice, and your amazing appearance. You have so much creativity and talent! I’m excited to hear the remainder of the album,” said one person, and another said, “This song is amazing! I listened to it once, and as I showered, it kept repeating in my mind. Amazing work.”
Another individual said, “Whoa, Michael! I adore it. Definitely going on my Christmas list, so I’m excited for Christmas.”

Michael is a talented songwriter and plays several instruments, including piano and guitar. Two of his songs, ‘Bitter and Blue’ and ‘Under the Sun’, which were released in 2009 and 2013 respectively, can be heard on the official NCIS soundtrack.

Michael’s new album marks his first major project since starring in the CBS courtroom drama Bull, which aired from 2016 until its cancelation last year.

The actor has, however, teased a potential return to NCIS. Back in January, Michael shared a tweet hinting at a possible reunion between his character Tony DiNozzo and his former co-star Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David.

In a reflective New Year’s tweet, he wrote: “Happy New Year! It’s time to look at time and enjoy the moment!”
In the comments, one fan responded: “We all would rather look at you and Ziva reuniting and enjoying that moment,” prompting Michael to reply: “Stay tuned… for this might be an interesting year for such ‘moments’!”

Michael stepped down from the role back in 2016, and last appeared in the season 13 finale.

At the time, he gave the following explanation for his decision to leave the drama: “It came about at the right time.” NCIS had worn me out, and I was ready for a change of pace. Occasionally, a change can be just as beneficial as a break.”

He admitted that he thought about leaving the show after co-star Cote de Pablo left in an interview with TV Line. “Their great dynamic, the badinage and sparring and flirting between those two characters and how they would swing from siblings to near lovers and back to buddies, that was gone,” he remarked, referring to the chemistry between their two characters.

“Then I got to the point where I felt I’d stayed at the party for too long.”
