After the SAG_AFTRA strike ended, Mills talked to ET about returning to work on the Big Island. It’s time for Noah Mills to return to work! With the SAG-AFTRA strike officially over, the actor of NCIS: Hawaii is prepared to return to the Big Island and get back to work—literally.

“It seems to be moving quite quickly these days,” Mills says to ET’s Kevin Frazier in Los Angeles over Zoom. “Possibly on December 4th. We get to work and soon we’re up and running because we have such a terrific crew and such a good machine over there from the first two seasons.”

He adds, “Everybody’s really excited. And just super grateful to be able to go back to this fantastic job. NCIS Hawaii, that’s my fam. Right now, I miss my castmates, miss making the TV, the episodes. I know we have amazing stuff written for the season. Time to not leave the fans hanging. Get some episodes out.”

The 40-year-old action star says that he found out the exciting news while walking his dog, and knew as soon as SAG made the official announcement, it was real.

“I got the call from my manager, and he was like, ‘Hey, it’s over.’ I was like, ‘Oh, really? I gotta wait to see it to believe it.’ Then SAG announced it,” he shares. “I gotta give a lot of respect to the crews and stuff. That’s hard. I haven’t been a member of the union that long, this has been my first union strike. It was really interesting to see the solidarity, what that means and also sharing in that, because we all have our different guilds. I know a lot of those guys were going through it kind of before us. So I was very aware of that. And just, you know, wanna give them a big shout-out and make it up to you guys, you know, get back.”

Getting back to work means making sure he’s in shape. Mills says that he’s been staying in the gym during his time away from work and is ready for whatever stunts he has to do.

He says, “I’m so excited,” to ET. It’s a major component of our show, so I’m really looking forward to that. They may want to slightly intensify that, in my opinion. The action, the island, the ocean, and everything that appeals to people, I believe, work. There are plans to accomplish a lot of it, I believe. I’ve thus remained prepared.”

“We have a fantastic stunt team out there, too,” he continues. In other words, when you’re dangling from a carabiner and doing something, I literally trust those people with my life. I’m eager to see the designs they have created for us.”

Joining Mills and the rest of the NCIS: Hawaii fam in the new season is LL Cool J — who starred as Sam Hanna on NCIS: Los Angeles for 14 seasons.

“Are you serious? “I’m ecstatic about the superstar joining the cast,” Mills exclaims. “I truly feel like I’m going to be hanging around with LL Cool, J. My collaboration with him was on The Mothership, an NCIS crossover. He’s an accomplished actor who exudes coolness and a powerful presence. He began telling me stories about how, when he was sixteen, he used to go to Studio 54 in New York. He’s completed it. Thus, I’m ecstatic. He’s just one of those folks who’s extremely curious about me and our relationship in Hawaii, you know. A heavyweight is on the way. Thus, it will be fantastic.

NCIS: Hawaii airs on CBS.
