Revised on November 29, 2023 Following the release of NCIS: Hawaii season 21, CBS has confirmed that NCIS: Hawaii season 3 will launch on Monday, February 12, 2023 at 10 p.m. ET. Naturally, this was wonderful news, but fans couldn’t wait to find out when production would start. We now know the solution!

Filming is scheduled to start on Monday, December 4, according to TVLine. The production will begin with a Hawaiian blessing ceremony, as is customary. Additionally, according to the site, LL Cool J, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Tori Anderson, Jason Antoon, Alex Tarrant, Vanessa Lachey, and Noah Mills are anticipated guests.

LL Cool J, who will be reprising his NCIS: Los Angeles role of Sam Hanna, is an addition to the cast for NCIS: Hawaii‘s third season. He’ll be a recurring star, however, there’s no word yet on how many episodes he’ll appear in. It’s possible that Henry Cusick might return as John Swift. Cusick is famous for roles like Lost, so having him for only a guest appearance seems off. Swift sticking around as a thorn in the team’s side could be a fun touch.

Both characters played significant roles in the season 2 finale.

In the episode, “Dies Irae,” Jane Tennant was in Venezuela tracking Creel, the man she believed had been dead for years but was now coming after her and former mentor Maggie. Creel had already killed Charlie-1, with Kate coming to aid Jane.

When the two came under fire, Sama Hanna stepped in to save them, returning Tennant’s favor. Jane was compelled to release Maggie from jail so that a sting operation might attempt to apprehend Creel. Trapping Creel proved to be a bold decision on Jane’s part. But Maggie killed him with a gunshot wound before making her getaway.

Internal affairs agent Swift was on the phone informing someone that although the team was good, more oversight was still needed, as the squad celebrated together. He declared, “I have someone in mind,” after determining the squad needed a new member.

Presumably, that addition will be Sam Hanna. There’s yet to be an announcement on more additions to the cast. There also haven’t been reports of cast members making an exit. Here’s who’s expected to be in NCIS: Hawaii season 3:

Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant
Alex Tarrant as Kai Holman
Noah Mills as Jesse Boone
Jason Antoon as Ernie Malik
Yasmine Al-Bustami as Lucy Tara
Tori Anderson as Kathrine Marie “Kate” Whistler
LL Cool J as Sam Hanna
Kian Talan as Alex Tennant
An official episode count for the third season hasn’t be revealed. However, it’s expected to have between 10-13 episodes as will the majority of CBS’ midseason line-up in order for the shows to finale in May as usual. We’ll keep you posted as more information comes in. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more NCIS franchise news and coverage.
