After Kody, everything seems pretty wonderful. Meri Brown, star of Sister Wives, may be leaving the family cult in Flagstaff, Arizona, but she has a long way to go.

Meri Brown discussed her decision to go to Utah with fellow sister wife Robyn Brown on the most recent edition of the show. The Brown family resided in Utah, a state with a significant Mormon population, until 2011, when they relocated Las Vegas due to that city’s progressive bigamy laws. They relocated to Arizona in 2018, where the polygamist family is now housed.

“I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and trying to figure out what to do, especially in the last year since [my] mom passed, like how to run the [bed and breakfast in Utah, owned by Meri’s family for generations] and what to do with it. It’s been a lot of work going back and forth trying to keep that up,” Meri told Robyn.

The announcement from Meri came in the middle of some serious marital problems between her and Kody, whom she has been married to, and later non-legally wed to, since 1990. In the new season, Kody had been through a divorce with former wife Christine, and had recently separated from another wife, Janelle.

Robyn muses in a later confessional about the family’s future and the move, on top of all the other significant changes.

But this is where you live, I guess I’m just kind of double-checking. Home is here. This will remain at home, right?

Meri and Kody officially ended their relationship in January 2023, as fans who keep up with Sister Wives news are aware, therefore Meri most likely relocated permanently, living in Utah full-time. As a result, it is much less certain whether he will continue to be a cast member of the show.

Will Meri Brown leave ‘Sister Wives’?

Sister Wives‘ future beyond this current season is uncertain, as the former wives of Kody’s go down different paths beyond Flagstaff. As of September 2023, no plans have been announced regarding a nineteenth season of the show.

However, this does not necessarily imply that Meri would leave the show if it were to go on. Christine left the family home at the end of season 17 of Sister Wives with her youngest child Truely, but she has continued to play a significant role as Kody deals with his marriage’s untimely dissolution in season 18. Despite moving from Arizona to her previous home state of Utah, Christine continues to record a significant number of confessionals for season 18 from her new residence.

With that in mind, there’s no reason that Meri cannot participate in a new season of Sister Wives – if she wants to. Regarding the remaining episodes of the season, it’s harder to say due to protection from spoilers, and Meri may want some space away from the cameras as she settles into her new home.
