RTE have confirmed when Home and Away will return to Irish television screens.

The popular Australian soap opera has been missing from TV schedules during the month of December.

However, there’s good news on the horizon as we can soon catch up with the residents of Summer Bay.

RTE confirmed to RSVP Live that the soap will be back on our screens on Monday, 6 January.

There are some big storylines coming in the New Year with the River Boys set to return and the departure of at least one fan favourite character. There are also some special scenes expected to air all the way in Queensland.

Plus, viewers will finally find out if Cash will take the blame and if Harper’s baby survives.

The soap ended on a high before its hiatus, with Tim’s life hanging in the balance after he got into a fight with Cash.

The latter had found out that Nerida was lying about her relationship with Tim. The pair had never dated and she had instead developed an unhealthy obsession with her former counsellor.

Elsewhere on the show, Remi put together a getaway for Lyrik and their friends so they could rehearse on a luxurious remote island retreat without being interrupted.

Things don’t go to plan and Tim and Eden break-up when she refused to sing the song she wrote about Cash – which causedTim to realise she still loves him.

In Summer Bay, Cash saw that Tim’s car and the Lyrik sharehouse had been vandalised. He was worried that Nerida had done something bad after she made threats to Eden, so he raced to the remote island to ensure that everyone was safe. Tim wasn’t receptive to Cash’s concerns.

Cash is later discovered standing over Tim’s lifeless body after Remi spotted them arguing earlier.

No one knows what happened – did Cash lash out or did Nerida sneak on to the island?
