Kody Brown is moving on from his polygamous past. The Sister Wives star embraces his new monogamous life with Robyn Brown by taking a huge step.

Kody Brown from Sister Wives switched out his Claddagh ring for a new one, demonstrating his assurance in abandoning polygamy. The 54-year-old father of the Brown family married four women in the previous three decades in an effort to create a large family. He was able to maintain them for a while, but eventually Robyn Brown, his youngest wife, and he decided to become monogamous. A year after losing Christine Brown, Kody and Janelle Brown divorced during season 18 of Sister Wives. Meri Brown was another relationship that Kody ended since he had no love left for her after a few years.

In a recently released sneak peek from Sister Wives season 18, Kody can be seen cockily waving his new sign of monogamy. The reality star is seated across from his current (and only) wife Robyn and his ex-wife Meri. Meri notices a new ring on her ex-husband’s hand and points it out as she tells them about her intentions to leave.

I’m sorry, but your ring has distracted me, she says. That has a distinctive ring. Kody dismisses it and claims it was simply a “ring,” but Meri points out that he previously wore another one while Kody laughs it off. She adds, “I did notice that it was replacing the Claddagh ring we all used to wear together.”

Meri Brown Claims She Doesn’t Care Kody Replaced His Ring

Though surprised by the shift, Meri is unconcerned about it. She doesn’t understand why Kody was making a scene at the table and smirking about the ring. He is being so awkward about it, the 52-year-old Sister Wives actor says to the cameras. For instance, don’t wear the ring to my place if he doesn’t want me to see it. Throughout the video, Kody just giggles like a young child who has been caught stealing cookies. Meri, though, is unimpressed with his actions. She continues, “I have no idea what this ring is or where it came from.” Where the ring originated doesn’t matter to Meri, she claims.

It’s clear why Meri was surprised to see Kody’s new ring. The Sister Wives cast member was Kody’s first wife and had been with him for years. She assumed he would never change the Claddagh ring representing their polygamous relationship. However, Kody did the unthinkable by replacing the symbol of plural marriage. One possible reason for this change could be his newfound monogamous relationship with Robyn. Kody is no longer with Christine, Janelle, or Meri. Therefore, he has no reason to wear the Claddagh ring, as it doesn’t represent anything meaningful to him.

Meri insisted she wasn’t envious of or concerned by Kody’s new jewelry, but it was obvious that she was. She was obviously taken aback by the change, but she shouldn’t have brought it up. She ought to have realized that her bond with Kody wasn’t what it once was. Following Meri’s online catfishing mistake, Kody and Meri’s relationship deteriorated. She engaged in emotional infidelity and left the marriage. Kody might still be with her as her husband if the Sister Wives actress had adhered to the laws of her union.

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
