Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers indicate that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) will relish finally being a father by adopting a kid with Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty). Eric has had this desire for a while, so he hopes that this is the final step in realizing it.
Since Eric is truly Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) “baby daddy,” Sloan feels bad about all the paternity fraud, but she’s in too deep right now to say anything.
Sloan prefers to just give Eric another child to raise since she feels it will make things more equal in her opinion. Sloan had clung to adoption as the possibly last remaining option since she was unable to bear Eric a child, aside from the truth.
Unfortunately, Days spoilers say Sloan and Eric’s plans for a family addition may come to a screeching halt. DOOL’s weekly preview shows a distraught Sloan reacting to Melinda Trask’s (Tina Huang) upsetting news.
Sloan hired Trask as their attorney to navigate the adoption process, but Melinda will admit there’s a big problem during the week of October 16-20. Will Eric’s criminal record become an issue and shut down any hope of adopting a son or daughter?
Eric went to prison after he drove drunk and caused Daniel Jonas’ (Shawn Christian) grim fate, so that could be the snag Melinda faces. It seems like a good time for Days to bring up the fact that Daniel would still be alive if it weren’t for Eric. Now that Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) is a teenager, it’d be great if we could hear her thoughts about her former stepdad causing her father’s demise.
Holly and Eric used to have a great relationship, but as she gets older and wiser, that relationship might change. Holly may not be a big fan of Eric right now because of what he did to Daniel and the way he once left his family for Africa. Days teasers indicate that Eric will talk to Nicole and show excitement at the adoption, but when he gets home and hears Sloan’s harsh reports, everything could fall apart.
Eric might decide fatherhood isn’t in the cards if he finds out Sloan can’t start a family with him because of his criminal past. Will Sloan reconsider disclosing the paternity once she has exhausted all possibilities for replacing the child she is withholding from Eric?
