News and spoilers about Days of Our Lives tease Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian) will be challenged by Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). In a little town like Salem, it would appear that no one’s secrets are safe, and Marlena accuses her of sabotaging her daughter Belle Brady’s (Martha Madison) marriage!
The information that was intended to remain a secret—that Talia and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) engaged in drunken grief sex and that Talia is now carrying his child—has leaked. This is the one thing that Belle can’t forget or get past since it reminds her of Jan Spears (Heather Lindell), who the devil made appear as her and claimed to be pregnant with Shawn’s child.
As it turned out, the baby wasn’t even Shawn’s, although the sex he had with Jan thinking she was Belle was for real. Shawn couldn’t turn his back on a baby he believed was his, and it took months and the revelation that the baby was Evan Frears’ (Brock Kelly) for Belle to forgive. Now, the betrayal and pain is fresh anew for Belle, fearing if she doesn’t lose him to liquor, she will to Talia!
Belle cries all this out to her mother, who of course works in Salem University Hospital as Talia does-she found out overhearing Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) confront Shawn at the SPD.
All of this happened around the time of Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) reconciliation with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and the funeral of Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). Even though Marlena believes a paternity test should be performed, the timing is correct and the child must be Shawn’s because Talia’s tormentor was already behind bars. Since he unintentionally put his father Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) into a coma, Shawn has been spiraling downward, and most lately, he has started to blame himself for Victor’s demise as well.
The drinking isn’t the problem, Shawn is, but Talia certainly hasn’t helped.
When Talia was being tormented and manipulated by Colin Bedford (Jasper Newman), the brother of Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty), Marlena had previously treated her. However, she had also been attempting to help Shawn, who was deteriorating rapidly. Marlena, who is often more sympathetic, is now losing patience with Talia. While there is culpability on both of their parts, Talia should at least be aware of what birth control is given that the majority of women continue using it.
Marlena, after dealing with a bereaved and angry Belle and Talia’s sister not using discretion, has had it up to there with Talia. Marlena confronts Talia for contributing to Shawn’s getting drunk that night when she was aware he was having problems, and being the catalyst in Shawn and Belle’s breakup.
