Okay, reports of Clyde Weston (James Read)’s new storyline have ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers wondering what is going on with the show.
It wasn’t too long ago they had great, well thought out storylines, but the last year or so they’ve been… off. The one that really stuck out to us to this day is Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller)’s murder, which Clive committed.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Show’s Writers Lost the Plot with New Clyde Weston Storyline
We were most interested in watching Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), who had been hiding in the toilet during the attack, emerge from the mansion carrying a knife with what appeared to be blood on it.
This was a tricky one since it suggested that he witnessed what occurred and teased the possibility that he might have been the murderer, as if Abigail had found him hiding and challenged him or something. But the knife had no effect. It was a meaningless throwaway tease, and having Clyde be the murderer seemed absurd given that he had every incentive to remain moral. It appeared as though the initial plan was modified in the middle of execution, and a backup plan was used.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Leveraging EJ?
Now that Clyde’s returning this week, his alleged storyline leaked and it looks like he’s the one that had Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) kidnapped and held in London by her ex husband.
It looks like Clyde had his people following Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), and the goal was, apparently, to use Susan as leverage against EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) to force him to deal drugs for him again.
As if that’s not enough, Clyde had Susan held captive for about a year and never once reached out to EJ. Until she showed up, EJ thought she was dead.
“Days of Our Lives” Spoilers expect there to be some kind of logical flow or at least a reasonable explanation, but this is just lazy and desperate writing, or so it feels like it.
We’re completely baffled by the writers’ intentions after learning that Clyde (Lucas Adams) may stage an accident in order to coerce Ava into working for him. Maybe this was the show’s attempt to make sure their narrative was used before others were brought in to take over, given that they shoot around six months in advance and the writers’ and performers’ strike began about five months ago.
Whatever the cause, we already have a headache from this one, and we don’t think it will get any better.
