The now-ended Hollywood strikes have left the television season mostly dry, but there’s good news for those looking for something fresh to watch! NCIS: Sydney, a brand-new spin-off of the original series that centers on agents in Sydney, Australia, will shortly premiere on CBS.

Todd LaSance, well known for Sparticus: War of the Damned, and Olivia Swann, who starred in Legends of Tomorrow, will serve as the show’s leaders. Swann, in the role of an NCIS agent, confronts Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey (LaSance), her AFP counterpart. This is the complete cast list:

Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey
Todd Lasance as AFP Counterpart Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey
William McInnes as AFP Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose
Tuuli Narkle as AFP Liasion Officer Constable Evie Cooper
Mavournee Hazel as AFP Forensic Scientist Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson
Sean Sager as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson
Due to premiere on CBS on November 14, the synopsis for NCIS: Sydney hints that the new series will follow NCIS agents from the U.S. as they work with the Australian Federal Police on cases that involve crimes within the navy.

“With rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of U.S. NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multinational taskforce to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet. Our team of Americans and Aussies must quickly learn to trust each other, overcoming and harnessing their differences to solve each case.”

The show’s creator and executive producer is Morgan O’Neill. The program was produced by Paramount Australia and Endemol Shine Australia for CBS Studios.

The teams will have to cooperate in the first episode, “Gone Fission,” to solve the death of an American seaman that occurred on Sydney Harbor. Although it appears that the cases will be similar to those in the prior NCIS episodes, we’re eager to see something fresh!

After each episode of the eight-episode season airs, it will be available to stream for Paramount+ Showtime subscribers the same day while Paramount+ Essential subscribers can begin watching the next day.
