Cash has been on a deep-dive on internet forums, trying to find the woman who received Felicity’s heart and lungs. He’s found someone who received a heart and lungs 14 hours after Felicity’s life support was turned off. When he doesn’t get Tane’s support in this, he goes sour, confronting Tane for moving on so quickly from Felicity’s death. Moments later, he regrets his words and apologises, but the damage is done.
When Mackenzie shows up to talk to him about Salt business arrangements, he brushes her off. What he cared about so specifically not that long ago seems to mean so little now. Mackenzie’s worried.
Cash is stoked, having just made contact with the organ recipient directly. As he exclaims to John how excited he is to meet her, John realises that perhaps Cash is in a more dangerous headspace than he first thought.
Meanwhile, with the offer from the art gallery owner in mind, Mali is struggling to know what the right move is for his career. What would this mean for his business? And is he even capable of producing that many artworks to the same standard as the piece he entered in the competition?
Later, Mali asks Alf for advice on what to do with the board shop. After realising he was only looking for ways to say no, he decides to turn down the offer from the gallery owner. It’s just not what he really wants deep down.
Elsewhere, Dana is being perhaps a little too overprotective of Harper, now that she’s back on her feet after the scare with the baby. She’s worried Harper may be reading into Tane’s support. She calls Marilyn to arrange a picnic hamper, and begs Xander to spend his lunch break setting up the picnic on the beach.
When Dana goes to pay for the hamper, she realises she may have misled Marilyn to think she was making a romantic hamper. Marilyn gave Tane and Harper the special couples hamper.
Harper and Tane arrive to a picnic basket full of love themed snacks. They wonder whether it’s a mistake or Dana’s idea of a joke. Despite Harper’s panic, Tane’s entertained by the situation.
When they find a baby name book in the basket, Tane takes the opportunity to defuse some of the tension by making up ridiculous names and claiming they’re beautiful. She’s touched by how sweet Tane is, clearly starting to catch some significant feelings.
