Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.
Home and Away’s Tane Parata will face a wedding dilemma as Cash Newman refuses to lie for him.
This week, Tane asks Cash to be his best man in his upcoming wedding to Harper Matheson. Cash agrees to take on the role but feels uneasy as Harper had earlier shared that her fiancé has never told her he loves her.
When Cash questions Tane about his true reasons for getting married, the latter admits that he doesn’t love Harper, although he believes stronger feelings may come with time. Cash goes along with Tane’s marriage plans but soon has a change of heart.
In scenes that will air on 22 and 23 April, Cash gets worked up over the ongoing tensions with Remi Carter, who doesn’t approve of Cash and Eden Fowler’s recent reunion.
Frustrated Cash confronts Tane and bluntly announces that he won’t be doing the best man speech at his and Harper’s wedding. He says that he can’t make up a bunch of lies about the couple being in love with each other now that he knows Tane’s true feelings.
“When Tane first told Cash that he didn’t love Harper, Cash decided that it wasn’t his place to interfere – but that’s all changed now,” our Home and Away source reveals.
“At face value, it seemed to make sense that Tane’s feelings for Harper would naturally develop over time. But when it comes to thinking about his best man speech, the reality hits home for Cash. He’d be implicated in a lie if he gave a touching speech about Tane and Harper’s relationship that bears no relation to reality…”
Meanwhile, Harper’s sister Dana finds out about Cash threatening to pull out of the wedding. She asks why he’s not committed to the occasion.
At first, Cash lies that he’s too busy with work, but eventually voices his concerns over the ceremony. Dana admits that she’s worried too, but insists they have to push past their doubts and make the day as special as possible. Will Cash agree?
