With each of them on opposite sides of the war between the Greens and the Blacks, and the many parallels between the two characters, a battle between them has been inevitable and steadily building since season 1. That tension is poised to boil over in House of the Dragon season 3 following Daemon’s renewed loyalty to Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and Aemond being told how he will die.
While perched on their dragons in art created by @rui_goncalve_art and posted on Instagram, Daemon and Aemond finally have their long-awaited fight.
In the second image, Daemon’s dragon, Caraxes, can be seen sinking his teeth into Aemond’s dragon, Vhagar. While Vhagar is the largest living dragon, Caraxes appears to have gained the upper hand as he sinks his teeth into Vhagar’s flesh, potentially giving Daemon the victory over his nephew.

Aemond Is Doomed To Fail
As the artist clarifies in the caption, the images do not spoil what will happen when Daemon and Aemond finally collide, and is instead what they imagined would happen before being spoiled. Based on what has happened in previous seasons, including in House of the Dragon’s season 2 ending, this is a feasible outcome. Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban) tells her brother that she saw a vision of him dying while flying above the God’s Eye.
The fan art depicts a potential version of Aemond’s foretold death, with Caraxes killing Vhagar, and the dragon’s death sending Aemond to meet his fate in the God’s Eye below. While Aemond is a formidable and cunning individual, he can also be impulsive and short-sighted. Daemon is older and more experienced and may be able to use these weaknesses against his nephew, allowing him and Caraxes to ultimately triumph over Aemond and Vhagar.
