Jason Statham’s new movie, A Working Man, is no longer playing in theaters, but the action thriller has been a major hit on streaming. It’s now been over a month since A Working Man became available for rent or purchase on VOD platforms like Prime Video, and after previously battling it out with other projects like Dark Winds, the film has maintained its course atop the streamer’s charts. At the time of writing, A Working Man still sits at #2 on Prime Video’s digital purchase charts, now holding off Neal McDonough’s Homestead, the disaster thriller that earned 45% from critics and 71% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Both of these scores fall below A Working Man, which earned a 49% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a “verified hot” 87% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter.

A Working Man was Jason Statham and David Ayer’s follow-up to The Beekeeper, the 2024 action hit that delivered over $150 million at the box office. The film was also a hit on streaming for most of last year, and Amazon announced not long ago that a sequel is in the works with a new director attached. A Working Man didn’t perform nearly as well as The Beekeeper did at the global box office, however, as it fell just short of cracking $100 million. Still, the film has likely padded Amazon’s pockets more with its strong VOD performance, considering it’s been one of the biggest earners on the streamer for more than a month now. In addition to Statham, A Working Man also stars David Harbour (Stranger Things) and Michael Peña (Landman).

When Is ‘The Beekeeper 2’ Coming Out?

Amazon has yet to assign The Beekeeper 2 an official release date, but it was confirmed not long ago that the film will begin production sometime this fall. This leaves the most likely window for release sometime in 2026, but a more specific date will depend on several factors like production time and post-production responsibilities. Jason Statham’s next movie, Mutiny, has already been set for release on January 9 next year. He’s expected to reprise his role as Deckard Shaw in Fast X: Part 2, which is also set to begin filming this summer, but similar to The Beekeeper 2, it does not have an official release date.

A Working Man and Homestead are both topping Prime Video digital purchase charts. Stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
