In the all-new episode of NCIS airing tonight, April 21, NCIS-verse star LL Cool J guest stars as Sam Hanna. He arrives in D.C. to help with a case no one else can solve. “When a trio of combat vets are found murdered in a D.C. motel room, NCIS tracks down a suspect who refuses to talk to anyone but Sam Hanna,” reads the logline for NCIS Season 22, Episode 18, “After the Storm.” Sam usually wins almost everyone over with his upbeat attitude and lights up every room he enters. It’s no different in this instance when he reconnects with some of his friends in the DC office, and they are ecstatic to see him. CBS released a sneak peek of the episode, previewing the case and some reunions.
Sam has unique insights into many people, given how long he’s worked in NCIS and how many people he’s met. He proves to be a great resource when someone named Mark is a person of interest in several murders, but NCIS can’t figure him out because there is nothing about him that can be found in government records. In the video below, Sam offers some insight into Mark’s career and reveals that he had worked with Mark and always trusted him. If the team thinks Mark was involved in something shady, they must be missing something.
“I’ve been pinned under sniper fire with this guy. . . . I trusted this guy with my life and he trusted me,” Sam tells Parker (Gary Cole) and McGee (Sean Murray). The rest of the team starts flowing into the bullpen, enthusiastically greeting Sam. Their interactions reveal some uniquely personal dynamics in the friendships.
Sam’s Charm Dominates ‘NCIS’ in Season 22, Episode 18
The character has interacted with many others in the NCIS-verse, and it’s always a good time. This episode “has all the same chemistry that people love plus more action, thrills, and suspense. It’s a big episode for the flagship show. You get a little extra dessert with dinner,” Cool J told People while previewing his return. He revealed that picking up the character after his run ended on NCIS: Los Angeles was a no-brainer. “I like the character, he’s beloved and it’s so fun playing him. I don’t see why I wouldn’t come back,” he told the outlet. Other NCIS cast members teased an epic episode as Sam helps solve a tough case with friends.
