The Price Is Right At Night at 8 PM and an NCIS rerun at 10 PM are wedged between CBS’s game show Loteria Loca, which has been showing on Mondays since October 2, and five low-rated airings in the Monday 9 PM time slot. Loteria Loca is being removed from the schedule immediately.
Based on a Mexican format, the game show was scheduled to air on November 13 at 8 PM, followed by consecutive NCIS reruns from 9 to 11 PM. As an alternative, CBS will begin airing a nonstop schedule of NCIS encores on Mondays from 8 to 11 PM on November 6 and November 13. This will set up the premiere of NCIS: Sydney, the Australian spinoff of the classic crime drama, on November 14.
CBS has mounted a big promotional effort for NCIS: Sydney, the only scripted series on its strikes-impacted fall schedule, which has not been previously available in the U.S.
Originally slated for the Monday 10 PM slot, behind an NCIS repeat, the new drama was moved to NCIS‘ longtime Tuesday 8 PM time period to get away from ABC’s simulcast of Monday Night Football.
The two weeks of NCIS across all three hours of primetime on Monday will now be used to plug the NCIS: Sydney CBS debut. Additionally, the offshoot will be followed by an NCIS rerun on Tuesdays.
The shelving of Loteria Loca is hardly shocking. The game show, which was presented by Jaime Camil and included Sheila E. as the band leader and co-host, never really took off and is currently CBS’ lowest rated and least viewed program of the autumn, most likely due to its rivalry with MNF. The remaining episodes that were produced are not sure what will happen to them, but its Christmas edition will air in December (date to be confirmed).
What will happen to the final Price Is Right At Night of the current batch, which was scheduled for November 6, is also unknown.
