There was already another real-life couple who starred on the CBS drama together too

NCIS: Origins is the prequel series fans have long been waiting for.

Set in 1991, CBS’s fifth NCIS spinoff follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) as he begins his career with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, operating out of Camp Pendleton.

NCIS: Origins premiered in October 2024 — three years after Mark Harmon exited NCIS, on which he portrayed an older version of Special Agent Gibbs for 19 seasons. The legendary actor now serves as the prequel’s narrator.

In the Stowell-led show, viewers watch as Gibbs attempts to find a path forward, both personally and professionally, following the tragic deaths of his first wife and daughter in a fatal car crash.

A romance is currently brewing between Gibbs and Special Agent Lala Dominguez (Mariel Molino) in season 1 of NCIS: Origins, with new episodes airing every Monday, but as fans of the franchise know, the handsome special agent has a lot of challenges when it comes to love.

Off-screen, Stowell and Molino are still looking for their forever partners, while Harmon has been married to his wife, Pam Dawber, for nearly 40 years.

Here’s everything to know about the real-life partners of the NCIS: Origins cast.

Austin Stowell

At the moment, Austin Stowell, who plays a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the CBS prequel series, is in love with his work.

“I’m in a relationship with a TV show. I am here Monday through Friday,” he jokingly told PEOPLE in October 2024.

When he does get back around to dating, Stowell said he’s looking for a “kind” future partner.

“I think the way that someone treats someone on the street, you can really learn a lot about them in those moments,” the actor explained.

Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber

Mark Harmon — who played Special Agent Gibbs on NCIS from 2003 to 2022 before being cast as the official narrator of NCIS: Origins — has been married to his wife, Pam Dawber, since March 1987.

While speaking to PEOPLE in November 2023, Harmon said there’s “no secret” to his successful marriage.

“We laugh. You got to laugh, and you got to talk and communicate,” he added. “Maybe you just get fortunate and find the right one. We share many things, and yet we’re really different.”

Harmon and Dawber share two sons: Sean and Ty. Some viewers were surprised when Sean, who appeared in several NCIS episodes as a younger version of Gibbs, wasn’t cast as the lead in NCIS: Origins.

Harmon told Variety in October 2024 that his older child “made [the] choice” to serve as an executive producer rather than reprise his role as Gibbs.

Kyle Schmid and Caity Lotz

Kyle Schmid, who plays Special Agent Mike Franks, and his wife, actress Caity Lotz, married in February 2023 at the Sanctuary de San Pedro Clave in Cartegena, Colombia.

The couple first met on the set of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow in 2021 and now share a daughter, whom they welcomed three years later.

In December 2024, Schmid paid tribute to his “ride or die” on Instagram in honor of Lotz’s birthday.

“You’re the most amazing person I’ve ever met,” he wrote. “I can’t believe I get a lifetime with you. You are my everything. I love you to the moon and back.”

Mariel Molino

Mariel Molino, who portrays Special Agent Lala Dominguez, is currently single and once described herself as a “mysterious gal” while speaking to Freeform in April 2023.

In that same interview, the outlet posed a series of dating red flags for her to respond to, such as “they invite you over then tell you about a string of mysterious deaths in their apartment building.”

Molino jokingly responded, “I feel like I would want to date them more.”

Tyla Abercrumbie

Tyla Abercrumbie, who plays Officer Mary Jo Sullivan, appears single.

However, the actress did speak to Parade in March 2025 about love in regards to her NCIS: Origins character, who was blindsided by a divorce.

“Our love affairs don’t look anything like the movies, right?” Abercrumbie said. “We think you’re going to meet Prince Charming, you’re going to have this white picket fence and the house and the dog. And the truth of the matter is that our relationships take on different looks.”

Diany Rodriguez and Lee Lyons

Diany Rodriguez, who portrays Special Agent Vera Strickland, has been in a relationship with movie exhibition professional Lee Lyons for over a decade.

“I love him. NEARLY TWELVE YEARS IN i love him more today than when we first got together,” the actress wrote on Instagram in honor of Lyons’s birthday in September 2024.

Caleb Foote and Reagan Jobie

Caleb Foote, who plays Special Agent Bernard Randolf in NCIS: Origins, is dating Reagan Jobie, a therapist.

It’s unclear how long they’ve been together, but Foote first posted a photo of Jobie on Instagram in May 2024.

The couple appears to share a love for travel as they’ve been documenting their adventures in places like Costa Rica and Japan on social media.

Patrick Fischler and Lauren Bowles

Patrick Fischler, who portrays SAC Cliff Wheeler, has been married to actress Lauren Bowles since March 2005.

In recent years, the couple worked together on 2023’s Night Shift, and in February 2025, Bowles was cast as Fischler’s on-screen wife in NCIS: Origins, per TV Line. Season 1, episode 17, which airs on April 21, will mark her first appearance on the show.

Fischler and Bowles share a daughter named Fia, whom they welcomed in 2009.

Bobby Moynihan and Brynn O’Malley

Bobby Moynihan, who plays senior chemist and head of the NIS Forensic Laboratory Woodrow “Woody” Browne, wed actress Brynn O’Malley in 2016.

O’Malley’s list of acting credits also includes NCIS: Origins. She played Esther W on season 1, episode 14, which aired on March 24.

The couple share two daughters, and while speaking to PEOPLE in June 2024, Moynihan said he loves “everything” about being a girl dad.
