Ncis Fans Don’T Want To See Tony And Ziva Return – Here’S Why

NCIS is not anticipated to return until 2024, and while Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David have been linked to the show, nobody is overjoyed by the idea. Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David might return in NCIS season 21, although it’s debatable whether or not it would be a smart idea.

Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) and Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) were longtime fan favorites, and fans were heartbroken that they were never able to share any screen time together until Ziva’s departure in season 11.

Her supposed death then led to Tony’s departure in season 13 – but when she made a shocking return at the end of season 16, Ziva reunited with Tony and their daughter Tali offscreen. Ever since, there has been talk of them making a comeback together at some point in NCIS, with actor Michael Weatherly adding fuel to the fire in recent years.

On New Years’ Day, a fan begged the star on Twitter for Tony and Ziva to return to the show with him unexpectedly replying: “Stay tuned…for this might be an interesting year for such moments!”

Additionally, he has tweeted about the program numerous times, most notably recreating the famous Gibbs/DiNozzo slap. Despite the popularity of the characters during their time on NCIS, many people actually do not want to see Tony and Ziva make a full-time comeback. Instead, many are dreaming that one day they would appear in the CBS police drama for a significant event like the show’s final episode, if it were to end.

Viewers have been taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on a potential “Tiva” comeback. Starting off the Reddit thread, one fan wrote: “I know this probably won’t be popular but I don’t think Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo should come back to NCIS.

“I’d like to see them come back for a quest shot, maybe even a whole thread. But to bring them back as cast members would be a step backwards.”

Another stated: “I completely agree I don’t want them back, let’s just be glad we had them.

“If they did come back what happens to Nick and Jess? Nick and Jess having the sibling relationships and that banter works well.”

While another added: “Unpopular opinion, but I don’t really want either of them back at NCIS.

“Tony was on the show for 12 years. Every time they would come close to having the character grow and mature a bit, he would eventually revert back to his juvenile old ways.

“That got old, especially as he was getting older. Really loved Ziva’s character, but her return in S17 wasn’t the same.”
No formal confirmation of the pair’s return to NCIS has been made as of yet. The writers’ strikes, which have been going on for the past month, will, however, delay the drama’s comeback for a time. This implies that, if the strikes continue, NCIS might not make a comeback until early 2024 or later.
NCIS is available to watch on CBS.
