NCIS star Michael Weatherly will soon be reprising his role as the unforgettably charming Agent Tony DiNozzo in an NCIS spin-off.
NCIS’ Michael Weatherly has been working on a very different project away from NCIS Tony and Ziva alongside a family member.
Famed for movie buff Agent Tony DiNozzo in NCIS, actor Michael Weatherly was delighted to announce that he and former co-star Ziva David actress Cote de Pablo would reunite on the small screen for NCIS Tony and Ziva.
The eagerly anticipated spin-off will follow Tony and Ziva’s lives in Paris after they left their days at NCIS behind several years ago. However, not all is well between the former agents.
They quickly have to put their differences aside though when they’re targeted by an unknown enemy, going on the run around Europe as they try to put an end to the threat.
But while fans are desperate for the long-awaited series to drop, Weatherly has been busy elsewhere, working on something worlds away from the NCIS universe.
The 56-year-old has teamed up with nephew-in-law musician Casey Hooper, having written and released a song called Impossible World with the latter playing guitar on the track.
Hooper, who is a member of the “rock organ trio” SurfMaster, has previously auditioned for Selena Gomez and Adam Lambert and toured with Katy Perry, performing at the Superbowl.
Apart from his musical career, Hooper is known for being married to Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge, who is the niece of none other than NCIS’ Weatherly.
Breckenridge and Hooper tied the knot in 2015, had their son in September 2016, and then their daughter the following year.
According to Weatherly’s website, Impossible World is just one of his latest songs with him and Hooper working on a whole new album together.
When Weatherly released the video for Impossible World on Instagram, some fans commented that he could feature the song in NCIS Tony and Ziva.
This wouldn’t be improbable as the actor’s songs Under The Sun and Bitter and Blue were featured in NCIS’ soundtrack, so he may want to do this again for the spin-off.
As of yet, an official start date for NCIS Tony and Ziva hasn’t been announced, but the show is expected to premiere in late 2025 on Paramount+.
