At least as renowned as the actor himself are the sea blue eyes of the iconic Italian performer. The interesting novel The Unbeatable Couple by Levente Király teaches us that Terence Hill’s blue eyes were not closed to everyone.

In Bündászás, Claudio Cirillo collaborated with the acting team. The 95-year-old cinematographer recalls the shoot as follows:

“The first thing I want to say about my relationship with Terence Hill is that it was actually as cool as you can imagine. The problem is that I hadn’t worked on spaghetti western comedy like The Devil’s Right and Left Hand or on any of the other films in that genre, which were created at the time and later were huge box office successes. But even though Mr. Cirillo already had many successful I was a cameraman in a movie, the fact that I was new to the genre did not give Mr. Terence Hill the right to ask the producer and me to make a test recording in final form to see if he could properly bring out the blue color in his eyes.

– recalled the famous cameraman, then continued:

“For a split second, I believed I was on the set of Twilight Avenue, where Terence Hill took the place of Gloria Swanson, an American actress who won a Golden Globe. I w as quite ashamed. The classic Italian picture Scent of a Woman, which almost missed winning the Oscar for best foreign film in 1974 by six votes, was released a few years ago. Apparently Mr. Hill doesn’t go to the theaters since he would have seen it. I served as the primary cinematographer for this Vittorio Gassman and Dino Risi production, and when it comes to the blue eyes, the female lead, Agostina Belli, displayed her stunning blue eyes, which I suitably highlighted. After then, I had only business-related and distant interactions with the well-known blue-eyed man.

The cameraman also recalled his relationship with Bud Spencer:

“I had a different relationship with Carlo Pedersoli. He was a great friend who was tolerant and quiet. Carlo did not require a stage name, as is typical in America, to be able to show himself as someone; he was an athlete, a champion in both swimming and water polo, and he had an excellent body. He quickly disapproved of his blue-eyed plan to conduct a test drive! He was one of the most memorable people because of his outlook on life, which was combined with his trusting and upbeat personality. The blue-eyed character was always given the lead in the movie’s script, but Carlo was actually the star of the show because of his charisma and his outstanding acting ability.
