Outlander season 7 brought back Master Raymond for a surprise visit, but he may not be the only mysterious character to return to the series. Claire has a great deal to work out in the coming season, and this all begins with her vision of Master Raymond—a character she hadn’t seen since Outlander season 2. This man had been in the hospital with Claire shortly after her miscarriage, and this fact inspired Outlander’s protagonist to question little Faith’s fate. Now, as Claire begins her newest journey, another similar character could come into play.
It’s unclear in Outlander season 7 if Master Raymond truly visited Claire. His appearance by her bedside may have just been a dream, but Claire certainly seemed to take it seriously. He apologized to Claire for something he had done in the past and sadly assured her that she would soon know what he meant. This teaser is a significant part of why Claire came to believe that Fanny Pocock’s mother, whose name was also Faith, was her and Jamie’s own daughter. Confirming this will likely require Claire to learn more about her and Master Raymond’s healing power. Of course, they aren’t the only ones in Outlander with this ability.
Outlander Season 8 Has Set Up Adawehi’s Return
She’s Another Character Who Can Subtly Guide Claire
Claire met and became friends with Adawehi, a Cherokee healer and shaman, back in Outlander season 4. The woman was wise, gentle, and entirely willing to share her healing knowledge, so Claire was immediately drawn to her. Though our Outlander protagonist is typically skeptical of the supernatural (even though she herself is a time traveler), it quickly became clear to her that Adawehi possessed a sort of psychic knowledge of the future. Her dreams were prophetic, and she warned Claire of not only her own death but of Claire’s future as a magical healer.
Claire is sure to remember Adawehi’s words, either through a flashback or another dream through which the woman pays a visit.
Adawehi was the first since Master Raymond to reference Claire’s ability to magically heal. She notes that Claire depends on her practical knowledge and ability to tend to people’s injuries but that her powers can do so much more. Adawehi prophesied that Claire would embrace her full power when all her hair was white. Master Raymond’s return and the big reveal about Faith hint that Claire will soon begin to explore her powers in Outlander. As she does this, Claire is sure to remember Adawehi’s words, either through a flashback or another dream through which the woman pays a visit.
How Adawehi Connects To Master Raymond & Claire
Adawehi May Also Have A Blue Aura
Adawehi, unfortunately, died shortly after Claire met her in Outlander season 4, so the two women didn’t have much time to get to know one another. However, the fact that Adawehi knew about Claire’s healing power and was herself a shaman and healer implies that they shared a unique connection. Back in Outlander season 2, Master Raymond told Claire that he and her have a blue aura and that this is an indicator of their healing abilities. Though he doesn’t mention it, the Outlander books further indicate that this blue aura is linked to time travel.
If Adawehi could recognize that Claire has the ability to magically heal, then she could likely see her blue aura. Adawehi herself may share this quality with Claire and Master Raymond, making her a blue light healer with the potential for time travel. If Adawehi appears in Outlander season 8, we could learn this for certain. Of course, only time can truly tell.
