Outlander fans have been blown away by the Jamie Fraser star’s charity work away from the smash-hit Starz series.

Outlander star Sam Heughan has taken to Instagram ahead of undertaking an impressive challenge to raise money for charity.

This Sunday, he’ll be taking part in My Peak Challenge’s Seventh Annual Munro Step Challenge to raise money for blood cancer research.

Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the event, which challenges participants to walk the coastlines of six continents.

100 percent of all profits raised will be donated to the group’s charity partner Blood Cancer UK.

Taking to Instagram, Sam told his followers: “We’re doing the coast-to-coast challenge, we’re getting our steps in.”

The Jamie Fraser star was already getting a sweat on ahead of the challenge commencing on September 1st.

Fans were blown away by his continued charity work, with many taking to the comments to share how much his efforts mean to them.

“Sam you are so sweet, wow training this is wonderful you are admirable,” someone replied.

And another said: “Thanks Sam. Because you inspire the person to do something for the other.

“This world will be fantastic if all of us do what we can to help another life. Like you do or in other ways. When a life supports another life all the world change.”

“Amazing initiative Sam,” a third replied. “You are a spectacular coach and also always amazing.”

Plenty of fans revealed they were also taking part, perhaps inspired by Sam’s fitness and charity work when he’s not protecting his wife Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) in the 18th Century.

“My favorite challenge of the year and LOVE this year’s shirt,” one participant said.

Another replied: “My munroshirt arrived today, just in time l’m ready.”

And a third exclaimed: “Yes! I’m ready for the challenge! Let’s go!”

Sam is fitting his charity work in between filming scenes for the eighth and final season of Outlander, currently taking place in Scotland.

Thankfully, fans won’t be waiting for too long before the show returns, as there’s still eight more episodes of season seven still to hit screens this November.
