During her Wednesday night appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Kyle Richards talked about the many allegations that have been going around about her breakup with Mauricio Umansky, his supposed romance with Emma Slater, his partner on Dancing With the Stars, and her connection with country music artist Morgan Wade.
After The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills aired, Kyle, 54, addressed who caused her to split from Mauricio, 53, and her reaction to their previous dinner date. She also provided updates on Mauricio’s recent encounter with Emma, 34, Kathy Hilton, 64, Lisa Vanderpump, 63, and other celebrities.
“I will always be friendly [to Lisa]. I can’t say the same for Lisa necessarily but I think it will be fine,” Kyle said on the October 25 episode of WWHL after being asked about a potential run-in between the two of them at BravoCon next month.
“The last time we were together you sent her over a bottle of champagne and then she sent it back,” Teddi Mellencamp, 42, interjected.
“That’s right and she had dinner once and sent the bill to my table,” Kyle replied.
Then, after host Andy Cohen, 55, pointed out that Lisa “was being cheeky,” Kyle argued, “But she left.”
Moving on to her relationship with Morgan, 28, Kyle insisted they’re just friends.
“I can tell you she’s absolutely one of my best, best friends in the world, as well as Teddi. We’re all very close,” Kyle shared. “I met her on Instagram and then when we met her the first time we went together. And then we started a group chat and we would speak every morning because we all wake up really early, Teddi, Jen, Morgan, myself, at like 4 a.m. to work out. All of us have that in common, so that was the first text of every day, and we all became very close, and I honestly, when I say these things, I’m like, if she didn’t have all those tattoos, people would not say that. I’m with my friends all the time. They don’t pay attention. Although they did say that about [Teddi and I] too.”
While she and Mauricio have reportedly been separated for the past several months, they’re still living under the same roof.
“I’ve moved to a new room. Really, I said to him that he could have the master. the main sleeping area. Since the main bedroom is quite manly and the top level is like the glam with a bed, I let him remain there,” Kyle disclosed. “I thought to myself, what should I do? Place him in a little room with velvet, pink, and flowers? No.
Naturally, Mauricio and Kyle’s children—Alexia Umansky, 27, Sophia Umansky, 23, and Portia Umansky, 15—as well as Kyle’s oldest daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, 34—have found it difficult to adjust to their separation.
“When the news first came out, it was really, really devastating. Our phones were blowing up. My kids were just crying and wouldn’t leave the house and it was really, really difficult but now they’re much better,” Kyle confirmed. “They’re really strong and they’re just so together and so smart, and they’ve been my best, best friends, and I could not be more proud of them. They’re just amazing human beings. Thank God I have them through this.”
Kyle also has her sisters, Kathy, who she reconciled with earlier this year, and Kim Richards, 59.
“[They said], ‘We love you and we’re here for you,’ and Kathy was like, ‘I’m always here for you and I know you have anxiety and I love you,’” she shared. “[Kathy] was so excited to be at the Greek Theater for the [Morgan Wade] concert and we had a blast together so it was really, really nice.”
According to Kyle, things between her and Kathy are “great” at this point.
“It means a lot to me, especially with everything I’m going through right now, and that weighs on me very heavily, you know, when I’m having issues with my family,” she explained. “So I’m very happy that everything is great between us now, and I want it to stay that way, and of course, I get nervous because we do talk about it on the show this season.”
Speaking of last night’s premiere, Kyle said she “wasn’t surprised” that Mauricio didn’t know how many tattoos she had before revealing the rumor that bothers her most.
“The one thing I hear the most that it bothers me so much is that we are doing this just for ratings,” Kyle stated. “What human being would do that to their children, to their family? I mean, that is just, I mean, obviously those people are very ignorant. But it’s so annoying. I love you guys and the show but not that much.”
When Kyle then asked about the divorce prediction psychic Allison DuBois made about her and Mauricio during the show’s first season, during which she told Kyle that Mauricio would never “emotionally fulfill” her, Kyle insisted she was incorrect.
“My husband [and I] were very, very happy. That was not fake,” Kyle noted. “We really had an amazing marriage for a very long time. I really do believe she was picking up on what Camille was going through because Camille wasn’t being honest about that at the time. At that point, nobody knew anything, but she’s really happy to have that. And she also said, ‘Oh, this is your second marriage? Then you’re not getting divorced.’ Remember that? Because everyone keeps forgetting about that moment.”
Regarding more recent drama with Mauricio, Kyle admitted to deleting her support of Mauricio’s role on DWTS after seeing the images of him holding hands with Emma.
“Yes. But, I also voted for them. I did. I did my vote and I sent my screenshot to the family chat,” she explained.
She went on, “I was shocked by the pictures of Mauricio and Emma. Yes, [I felt angry]. That was quite difficult to see. It made me feel bad. I just don’t think you hold hands like that with someone. Andy, why are you doing things to me? I mean, holding hands like that.
Then, when questioned about if she thinks they are dating, Kyle responded, “I don’t know if anything’s happened yet, but obviously there’s something there, and listen, I love him very much and we are amicable, but that really did hurt me.”
Also on WWHL, after being asked who made the decision to separate, Kyle confirmed, “It originated from me.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
