Outlander star Sam Heughan has been praised by his fans and co-stars for his latest achievement.
Sam Heughan, who is best known for playing Jamie Fraser in the Starz show Outlander, has been congratulated by fans and co-stars alike after hitting a major milestone.
The Scottish actor has successfully raised over £40,000 for Blood Cancer UK after running an impressive 26.2 miles for the London Marathon.
Sam, who is also the founder of My Peak Challenge, completed the run alongside his fellow ‘Peakers’.
After running his sixth marathon, the star took to Instagram to update his 4.4 million followers, proudly sharing photos from the day along with an up-close snap of his gold medal.
“Incredible day running through the streets of London!” he wrote. “THANK YOU for all the support, wow London really shines in the sun! And boy did the sun shine…
“Special shout out to our @mypeakchallenge Cheer Zone, the huge Peaker online support, Hugo and Lisa and the whole @bloodcancer_uk team for cheering and welcoming us at the finish line with snacks, water and smiles.
“So proud, we have raised almost £40,000 to help fund and raise #bloodcancerawareness. Thank you! – oh, got a high five from fellow Scot @gordongram on the course too!” (sic)
In the post, Sam tagged celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who was there supporting his children Megan and Jack.
Sam’s fellow Outlander actor Tim Downie, who played Governor Tryon in the historical fantasy series, took to the comments to share his support.
“Absolute legend. Incredible,” he wrote with applauding and heart emojis, while Outlander’s Fergus actor Romann Berrux simply remarked: “GOAT.” (sic)
Outlander’s Laoghaire MacKenzie actress Nell Hudson responded with clapping emojis, while famous coach Thomas DeLauer commented: “Atta boy!”
The official My Peak Challenge account added: “What an incredible day! Thank you to our incredible community for supporting @bloodcancer_uk and Coach Sam.” (sic)
People still have time to donate to Sam’s JustGiving page, which has now raised over £40,500 for Blood Cancer UK.
The story on the page reads: “In honour of 10 years of My Peak Challenge, Sam is running the London Marathon 2025 — and he’s dedicating every mile to Blood Cancer UK, our official charity partner for this milestone year.
“This run is about more than just crossing a finish line. It’s about pushing limits, celebrating resilience, and standing up for those impacted by blood cancer. Every mile Sam runs is a reminder that together we can turn challenges into change.
“You can sponsor a mile to fuel Sam’s run and help us raise life-changing funds for research, support, and hope.”
It then goes on to list what each donation amount means on the day, before continuing: “Whether it’s mile 3 or mile 23, your donation carries him forward — and brings us all closer to beating blood cancer sooner.
“We’ll shout out Peakers on socials as Sam progresses on the day, and you may even get a thank you from Sam himself!
“1 in 3 people don’t survive their blood cancer and we lose them in the first five years after diagnosis.
“Too many people are dying from the most complex and aggressive forms of blood cancer – blood cancers that are the hardest to treat.
“We believe it’s possible to achieve significant shifts in survival, by making sure that all patients have access to the right drug at the right time.
“Our focus on the hardest to treat blood cancers will accelerate progress towards our goal of radical improvements in outcomes for these patients and bring forward the day when we beat blood cancer. Join us in celebrating a decade of purpose, progress, and Peaker power.”
Sam has been keeping busy on social media since the conclusion of Outlander season 7 back in January.
Fans will now have to wait a while for season 8, which has not yet been assigned a release date.
Season 8 will also mark the final installment of Outlander, based on Diana Gabaldon’s novels of the same name, though prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere this summer.
