Sister Wives Janelle Brown shared that she wants to stay separated on the most recent episode, shocking Kody. Why can’t he stop triggering her?
In the last episode of the show, where the estranged couple finally sat down to talk about their problems, Sister Wives actress Janelle Brown was repeatedly set off by her husband Kody Brown. Kody and Janelle’s marriage has broken down more severely than it ever has in season 18 of Sister Wives, particularly in light of Christine Brown’s departure from the show in season 17. Kody, who has been struggling to cope with the breakup of his marriage to Christine, has vented his anger on his surviving wives, particularly Janelle. He knows his fury isn’t focused towards Janelle in particular, but he hasn’t been able to control it.
Sister Wives season 18’s first episode included an intense altercation between Janelle and Kody, and since then the two have not spoken or attempted to patch things up. In an effort to weigh her options, Janelle has been speaking to Christine about how she is feeling. The couple’s first conversation with each other after several weeks of silence revealed that they have more serious concerns than just one contentious argument. Kody was shocked when Janelle said that she wishes to remain apart. Because of how frequently Kody irritates Janelle, Sister Wives, one of the top reality TV shows, has made it plain that their relationship isn’t stable.
8. Janelle’s Left The Country After Season 18 Fight With Kody
Janelle has shared that her fight with Kody, which was bitter and harsh for both parties, left her feeling triggered and uncomfortable. In order to make herself feel better, Janelle decided to treat herself. She went on a Mexican getaway after the fight aired on Sister Wives season 18, sharing some snaps on her Instagram about the trip. Though it was likely a planned trip to the sunny beaches of Mexico, Janelle took the time to escape from her problems and decompress. Things with Kody have been so difficult to deal with, that she truly felt like she needed to leave entirely.
7. Janelle Got Heated About Parenting Alone During The Pandemic
Although the pandemic hit everyone in the Brown family hard, Janelle was the one who felt the most strain when it came to Kody’s wives. Unlike Kody’s other wives, Janelle was left as the odd wife out when her children weren’t interested in listening to Kody’s stringent COVID-19 protocols, which he put in place on top of the standard practices. As a result of Kody’s rules, Janelle had to parent their children on her own and felt just how difficult that was. During their argument, it was clear Janelle was hurt by the fact that Kody had left her alone during one of the most difficult times of her life.
6. Kody Dismisses Janelle’s Concerns About Being Broke
Throughout Sister Wives season 18, Kody has consistently denied Janelle’s assertions about her financial situation, despite his attempts to play it off. Janelle has been trying her best to get back on her feet financially by continuing to appear on Sister Wives and selling products like Plexus online, despite the fact that she claims she put all of her money towards the mortgage on Coyote Pass. Unfortunately, Kody has been putting off Janelle’s worries even though her finances appear to be in complete disarray. He openly disbelieves her statements, putting Janelle on the defensive and demonstrating that she has nowhere safe to turn or ask for assistance.
5. Kody Still Prefers Robyn
While Kody remains adamant that he doesn’t play favorites when it comes to his wives, it’s clear that he does have a favorite in Robyn Brown. His most recent wife, Robyn is the person Kody has sacrificed the most for and takes up the majority of his time and attention. She has become his favorite wife over the time they’ve been together, and in the near-decade they’ve been married, this has become very apparent to Kody’s other wives. Janelle, who already has a tough time sharing her husband, has noticed the favoritism and can’t help but feel slighted by it.
4. Kody Runs Away When The Going Gets Tough
Rather than sticking around and hashing out an argument, Kody typically runs away when things get hard. He’s done this for years, but most recently showed just how cowardly he can be on Sister Wives season 18 episode 3 during his fight with Janelle. After the pair began to argue and Kody didn’t feel like he was getting his way, he dismissed Janelle and told her he wasn’t going argue with her. Rather than engaging in conversation or trying to come to a conclusion, Kody left Janelle without any sort of resolution, storming out and slamming the door. This is a pattern that Janelle has likely always found difficult.
3. Kody Killed Janelle’s Coyote Pass Dream
The Brown family as a whole, including Kody, Janelle, and the other members, were intended to live on a piece of property together and construct their ideal residences on what Kody has dubbed Coyote Pass. Christine most certainly withdrew her funds from Coyote Pass, but Janelle was fully committed to the idea of constructing a home for herself on the property. She spent the most of her money on making her dream house a reality after having designs for it drawn out. Unfortunately for Janelle, things quickly went south as her and Kody’s relationship started to fall apart, and while she works through her financial problems, her visions of Coyote Pass have turned into nightmares.
2. Kody Won’t Sleep With Janelle
Although there’s not much information out there about such a personal topic, Janelle and Kody have spoken about a lack of intimacy in their relationship. Kody has been explicit about the fact that there are some wives he doesn’t find attractive anymore. During a recent episode of Sister Wives season 18, Kody spoke about “plural monogamy”, explaining that Janelle didn’t seem to want a relationship with Robyn, and that made him feel like he was a husband with two families. To viewers, it simply seemed like he was looking for a way out of being intimate with his wife, which was triggering to Janelle.
1. Kody Doesn’t Really Love Janelle
Due to their shared past, Kody cares about Janelle, but it doesn’t appear like he feels the same way about her as he does about Robyn. Even if this is just conjecture, Kody’s actions have consistently been more convincing than his words, and it is obvious that the way he has handled Janelle has caused harm. Kody has made his position clear by dismissing her sentiments and shoving her away. It’s been a while since Sister Wives has been on, and while it may be better for Janelle in the long run, it’s hard to see things being so challenging for her right now.
