The Sister Wives star and Meri, Kody’s first wife, announced their desire to “permanently terminate” their spiritual union earlier this year. Now, months later, a source says there’s still hope that Meri, 52, and Kody, 54, may reconcile.
“Meri hasn’t given up on her marriage to Kody,” the source insisted.
“She might’ve ‘separated’ from him, but she’s not ever going to leave him, leave him. She’s going to wait for him to come back.”
The source went on to say that a big telling reason why she’s not ready to move on is because she “has rarely gone on any dates.”
“She might not find love again because she’s really not putting in the effort,” the insider claimed.
“She’s perfectly okay with being independent and just enjoying this time with her friends and focusing on her businesses.”
Despite the LuLaRoe sales rep posting pictures with various males, sparking dating rumors, the source said that they’re “just friends.”
PARENTING DRAMA
When the two got married in 1990, Meri became Kody’s first wife. However, in order for Kody to officially wed Robyn, his fourth wife, and adopt her three children, the couple divorced in 2014.
The spiritual union between Meri and Kody lasted to the end of 2022. They only had one child together during their marriage, Mariah Brown, who has now changed her name to Leon. The father of 18 “does not support” Leon’s change, according to previous reporting by The U.S. Sun. At the time, a source said, “They don’t have a relationship anymore, and because of it, it has affected his relationship with Meri, 100 percent.”
Now, another source is spilling more about how the feud all started.
“The truth is that Leon is mad because Kody didn’t take their mom back and work on their marriage.
“Kody and Leon’s problems stem from Kody’s treatment of Meri after the whole catfishing scandal,” the source claimed.
After the scandal broke, Kody “did not go back” to Meri because “she betrayed him so much,” even more than what was publicized. However, if Kody and Leon’s relationship is mended, the source said that there’s a good chance Meri and Kody could get to “a better place” and “back to how things were before the split.”
SUPPORTING EACH OTHER
At the wedding of his and Christine’s daughter Gwendlyn in July, Meri and Kody were last seen together in the public. Janelle and Christine, two more of Kody’s ex-wives, were also present. When Robyn and the grandfather were spotted in the background of family pictures shared on social media, it was a rare appearance from them.
Before this, Meri and Kody had not been seen in public since April, when Kody assisted the bed and breakfast proprietor in moving to Utah. Fans saw the reality stars picking up food at a petrol station when they were traveling to Utah at the time. According to a Reddit post, the pair was operating a sizable moving truck when they were spotted moving furniture and a piano at Meri’s Lizzie’s Heritage Inn.
A camera team reportedly documented the entire transfer for Sister Wives season 18 according to another Reddit post. TLC viewers watched as Meri discussed her worries about relocating from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Parowan, Utah, in the most recent episode. Meri told Jen Sullivan, her bestie who co-owns Lizzie’s Heritage Inn with her friend, that she doesn’t want Kody to think she doesn’t want anything to do with him.
I’d like my connection with Kody to progress to the point where we have, say, a wonderful marriage relationship, but that’s not where it is at the moment, she said.
“And I feel like when I tell him I’m going to be moving my business up to the B&B, he’s going to interpret that as that I am done with this relationship. And that’s not where I am.”
Meri and Kody’s relationship drama continues in new episodes of Sister Wives airing Sunday at 9pm ET.
