Sister Wives’ Star Kody Brown’S Son Says Robyn Brown Was The ‘Catalyst’ That Made His Dad A Monogamist

On Sunday’s episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” Robert “Garrison” Brown, the son of Kody Brown, confides in a few of his relatives that he thinks Robyn Brown was the “catalyst” that made his father a monogamist.

Garrison expresses his feelings on his father’s fourth wife Robyn while talking about the family problems with Christine Brown, his mother Janelle Brown, his siblings Gabriel and Savanah Brown, and his half-sister Gwendlyn Brown Queiroz.

Specifically, he says Robyn was “using COVID to make dad exclusive, and then turning herself into the victim and saying that it’s our fault.”

Brown says that he and some of his siblings tried to protest Kody and Robyn’s behavior and stick up for their moms, Janelle and Christine. But when they realized that nothing they said would change anything, they stopped paying attention to Robyn at all, which she didn’t like.

In the scene, the family members discuss an argument that occurred between Robyn and some of the older children regarding a gift exchange between the kids that they hoped could happen in person.

Robyn, who has the family’s youngest children, adhered strictly to COVID-19 safety regulations. She preferred that they speak online. In confessional interviews from season 18, many members of the family claim that the disagreement rapidly became heated when Robyn started bringing up previous grudges.

Christine and Kody were divorced at the time the scene was filmed in the spring of 2022, and Janelle saw themselves as estranged from him. All parties agreed that Kody was distant from many of his older children and did not try to engage with others (although they disputed on who was to blame).

“This is us going, ‘you know what, Robyn? Have him!’ ‘Cause we don’t care anymore. We’re all grown adults that don’t need a father figure anymore,” says Garrison, 25, who was estranged from Kody when the scene was filmed.

While Garrison’s siblings agree with his version of events, Queiroz, who married her wife Beatriz Queiroz in July 2023, admits that the way her dad is treating her hurts.

“I think every kid needs a dad, always,” says Christine, reflecting on the conversation in a confessional interview.

Kody doesn’t respond to Garrison’s words specifically, but he lumps his adult children in with his feelings about his estranged wives.

“All of you are just kind of jerks,” he says in a confessional interview in the episode, reflecting on how Robyn has been treated. “I don’t want to be around you. And I’m tired of it. And I don’t want to call them, and I don’t want to talk to them.”

Robyn claims that some of Kody’s children will always see her as the evil guy, regardless of what she says or does to try and prove them incorrect.

Fans of “Sister Wives” witnessed Kody and Robyn “spiritually” wed in the season one finale in 2010, and then be married in a civil ceremony in 2014 so that Kody could adopt three of Robyn’s children from a prior union. Kody currently only has Robyn as his spiritual or legal wife. Within 14 months of one another, his three other wives, Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown, all publicly declared the dissolution of their unions with Kody.

“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
