Although these “twin souls” have always claimed to be better off together, is there trouble in paradise for PK and Dorit? Paul “PK” Kemsley and wife Dorit Kemsley have been essentially “inseparable” from their first date, according to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This is a couple who believes they are better together, whether it’s cuddling date nights, starting new businesses, or spending time with their two lovely children.
“PK and I, we’ve always been the couple that goes through life together. We share everything together,” Dorit told Bravo Insider last year. “We enjoy things more if we’re doing it together.”
But no couple is immune to challenges, and the upcoming season of RHOBH could see the couple facing their own. A press release about the upcoming season hinted that Dorit and PK will “attempt to work their way back from an issue that almost cost them their marriage.” With the new season of RHOBH just weeks away (Season 13 is slated to premiere Oct. 25), let’s revisit some of the close-knit couple’s best moments together.
Dorit and PK Kemsley’s Relationship Timeline
2011: Dorit met her real estate developer hubby in 2011 through friends, but the romance almost never got off the ground. Dorit told Grace Ormonde Wedding Style that she initially turned down PK when he asked her out on a first date because she was supposed to board a plane to Hong Kong for work.
Luckily, the ever-persistent PK convinced her to postpone the flight and the rest is history.
“We went out and have been inseparable from that first night,” Dorit said.
2014: The couple welcomed their son Jagger in 2014. Jagger has been a regular fixture in his famous mom’s social media profile ever since, with Dorit taking a moment on Instagram last year to celebrate her baseball-loving son’s 8th birthday.
“My firstborn child, to the boy I adore. Jaggy, my love, I want you to genuinely think that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to, that you will never lose, and that you will always succeed. She commented, “Watching you grow has been the joy of my life,” and included a collage of his older pictures and videos. “I am so, SO blessed to be your mother. You are the most thoughtful, kind, caring, loving, genuine, smart, capable, funny, happy amazing boy I’ve ever known.”
2015: By 2015, Dorit and PK were busy raising their new bundle of joy and starting a life in Los Angeles together, but they still took the time to plan some epic ‘20s-themed nuptials. The couple tied the knot in New York City’s iconic Rainbow Room on March 7, 2015, amidst “spectacular” views of the Manhattan skyline.
“It was everything we wanted,” Dorit told Grace Ormonde Wedding Style of the “elegant, warm and luxurious” evening, complete with art deco touches and a performance by close friend Boy George.
2016: The couple added another pitter patter of little feet in 2016, when they welcomed daughter Phoenix into their growing brood.
That same year, Dorit joined RHOBH in its seventh season with her talent manager husband’s full support.
“PK’s cool. He likes it. He likes the thrill of it,” she told The Daily Dish in January of 2017. “As far as the negative attention, he just says, ‘Oh, who cares? We are who we are. The people that know us, know us. We don’t really have anything to really worry about in that regard.'”
Dorit described her marriage as “solid” and said the newfound attention on the family would do nothing to break that bond.
“We connect. I mean, I’m OK on my own, but then I’m with PK [and] I’m whole, and it’s the same for him,” she explained. “So therefore no outside influences and nothing that anyone can say can seep in or create waves between him and I.”
2019: Three years later, Dorit was still gushing over the pair’s unshakable friendship, referring to PK in an Instagram post for his birthday as her “twin soul.”
She added, “The universe gives each of our souls a twin, which is a reflection of our own souls,” next to a striking image of the couple clothed in black and white. “These souls will always find a way to one another, no matter how far removed they are from one another. Happy birthday to my twin soul, my best friend, my foundation, my rock, my happy spot, and my incredible hubby. I’m eager to honor you today and always.
But like any good marriage, there’s sure to be some bumps in the road. Dorit and PK had theirs in 2019 when they found themselves at the center of controversy in RHOBH Season 9 over questions about PK’s finances. That same year, PK settled two lawsuits with Ryan Horne and Nicos Kirzis over his business affairs for an undisclosed amount.
“These matters, which were never as concerning to the Kemsleys as they were made to appear, have now been resolved,” attorney Matthew Pace of Rimon Law told E! News at the time. “The Kemsleys look forward to the next chapter without the legal encumbrances of the last few years.”
2021: By 2021, Dorit had her eye on her expanding fashion line. The successful swimwear designer also began designing wedding gowns, but as she told US Weekly at the time, don’t expect her and PK to renew their vows any time soon.
The reason? Dorit confessed fellow Housewife Kyle Richards once told her anyone who renews their vows often finds themselves headed for divorce. Hoping to avoid the Housewives divorce “curse,” Dorit wasn’t eager to walk back down the aisle.
“I might wear the wedding gown, you know, somewhere in my own closet, but I’d like to stay married to PK for the rest of my life,”she told US Weekly, adding that she believed “if you have a strong marriage, then that’s what stands the test of time.” The year also brought a traumatic moment for Dorit when intruders broke into her home, and she battled post-traumatic stress in the months that followed.
2023: Earlier this year, the couple celebrated their eight-year anniversary and Dorit was feeling sentimental. In an Instagram post commemorating the occasion, she shared a video of highlights from the wedding and an emotional post.
“Twelve years ago I decided to share my heart with @paul_kemsley_pk. 8 years ago today, I married my soulmate. We may not always have it all together, but together we have it all,” she wrote. “I love you so much baby.” PK was also feeling the love on Dorit’s birthday, celebrating his wife with a fun montage of photos and videos.
“Happy bday darling … here’s a few fun memories … let’s make so many more … I love you ,I’m proud of you … just remind me how old we are telling people you are,” he joked on Instagram.
