On Days of Our Lives, Dimitri, Leo, and Gwen have no problem risking their lives. The three of them getting caught up in a web of sex, lies, greed, and dishonesty was nothing short of a formula for total and utter disaster because none of them had led what we’d call moral lives.
And that’s exactly what we’re getting—disaster! Dimitri, who is entirely oblivious that it’s now too late, is determined to get rid of Gabi and Stefan so they won’t reveal the truth about his affair with Leo. Because Gwen finally lost all pretense with her “friend” Leo as he pulls a pistol on his aunt and uncle on Friday’s episode (after Kristen, of course, drew a gun on him).
And what happens next could determine who’s staying, who’s going and who’s surviving this madness!
Gwen, Greg Rikaart previews in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest is furious and finally lays into dear Matty. “What she says is pretty devastating to Leo.”
The con knew this day could come and he knew his love for Dimitri could end his friendship with Gwen. But he just couldn’t help himself. He just wasn’t quite expecting Gwen to play as dirty as she did in her revenge! Though he should be grateful she didn’t go along with Kristen’s murderous idea…
When she lays it all out for Leo, Rikaart admits to Digest that, “In the moment, he’s surprised that Gwen kind of outwitted them, but in hindsight, it’s absolutely something he realizes Gwen would do. It’s par for the course. And Leo is somebody who seeks revenge when he feels wronged, so he understands.”
Leo can’t help but question how deadly Gwen has become when he learns that Dimitri was shot in the midst of their altercation. It’s awful. She didn’t shoot Dimitri, of course, as evidenced by the conclusion of Friday’s episode, but Leo is nonetheless shaken by the revelation. Furthermore, there may never be a way to repair this friendship if he believes she is capable of murder.
Now, judging by spoilers for next week, this isn’t going to kill Dimitri. But he tried to murder Gabi and Stefan in cold blood. Even if the shot isn’t fatal, Dimitri may be saying bye-bye as he goes for an extended stay in a lovely facility where the windows all have bars on them. And he is clearly not going to be happy about what Gwen’s done to him and Leo.
It appears that Gwen will soon have every reason to leave Salem, even as she no longer has any reason to stay there. We are aware of Dimitri’s danger and the fact that he doesn’t truly care for Gwen. He was prepared to brutally slaughter his own family. If he isn’t imprisoned in a pitch-black hole, we have a hunch that Gwen is now the target. Heck, even if he is, she need to still keep an eye on herself and leave before it’s too late!
All we can say is we hope it was all worth it for Leo, because he could soon lose the only two people he actually loves!
