Tulsa King has cast famed comedian Kevin Pollak for a major role in Season 3. The Sylvester Stallone-starring crime drama was renewed for a third season in March.

Pollak will be joining the Paramount+ series as FBI Special Agent Musso, who enters the story “with an axe to grind.” Agent Musso is certain to cause problems for Dwight “The General” Manfred (Stallone) as he establishes a mafia foothold in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role will be as a series regular, making Pollak’s part much more than a guest appearance.

“I’ve been an admirer of Sly’s throughout his entire career and could not be more excited to be a part of this stellar cast and extraordinary production,” Pollak said in a statement.

Pollak is no stranger to the mob drama genre, as he memorably played corrupt casino boss Phillip Green opposite Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in Martin Scorsese’s 1995 classic Casino. He more recently won two Screen Actors Guild Awards for portraying Moishe Maisel in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The actor and comedian’s 40-plus year career has also included memorable big screen appearances in Willow, A Few Good Men, The Usual Suspects and Grumpy Old Men. Pollak has had recurring roles on TV in Better Things and CBS sitcom The Neighborhood. He also has the distinction of being one actor who’s played the Joker, voicing the DC supervillain in the animated 2021 movie Injustice.

His casting comes on the heels of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and The X-Files star Robert Patrick and SEAL Team’s Beau Knapp coming on board for Tulsa King Season 3. Patrick will be playing a powerful and intimidating liquor magnate, whereas Knapp will play an unpredictable trust-fund heir.

Martin Starr, who plays marijuana dealer Bodhi Geigerma, confirmed in March that production on Season 3 was starting at the end of the month.

“I can’t tell you anything that I’ve read in those episodes, but I am excited. The new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up,” he hinted.

Tulsa King has experienced significant behind-the-scenes changes throughout its two seasons. Four-time Emmy winner Terence Winter (The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire) served as showrunner for season one, but was demoted to head writer for season 2 due to creative differences with producer and co-creator Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan’s Tulsa King co-creator Dave Erickson has stepped up as showrunner for the forthcoming third season.

Stallone recently opened up about how he unknowingly prepared for his starring role in Tulsa King more than 20 years ago. The legendary actor revealed that he considered his 2000 remake of Michael Caine’s 1971 movie Get Carter to essentially be a “prequel” to Tulsa King.

The Second Season of Sylvester Stallone’s Mob Drama Premiered in September 2024

“It’s interesting that 25 years ago I was acting in one of my BEST films, the underrated Get Carter and now that I look back at it, it looks like I was subconsciously preparing myself to play ‘Dwight Manfredi’ in Tulsa King 25 years later! Let’s just call it a prequel,” he wrote via Instagram in January.

Get Carter was initially received poorly by critics and flopped with only $14 million in box office receipts, against a $60 million budget. However, the crime drama has gained a cult following over the past 25 years, in part due to Stallone frequently ranking it as one of the best films he’s ever made.

Tulsa King Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now on Paramount+.
