Fans of NCIS will now be able to see the newest series in the franchise, which is centered on NCIS agents working overseas, after months of waiting. The premiere of NCIS: Sydney is scheduled for November 14 at 8 p.m. ET. Members of Paramount+ will also be able to watch the program. The series is scheduled to show eight episodes in total. The season’s final three episodes will premiere in January 2024, with the first few showing in the final two months of 2023.

In the first episode, “Gone Fission,” we will be introduced to NCIS Agent Michelle Mackey, played by Olivia Swann, as she settles into an investigation with her Australia police counterpart Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey, played by Todd LaSance. The agents from NCIS will be teaming up with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) which will eventually lead to a “multinational task force to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet.”

When a military seaman is found dead while aboard a US nuclear submarine, the inquiry gets underway. Given that the fatality takes place in Sydney Harbor, cooperation between the two agencies is required to determine the cause of death.

The official synopsis:

“The death of an American seaman on a U.S. nuclear submarine during a ceremony on Sydney Harbour is investigated in a joint effort between America’s NCIS agents afloat and the Australian Federal Police.”

Watch a sneak peek below of when NCIS agents Michelle Mackey and DeShawn Jackson (Sean Sager) meet the AFP, and Mackey and JD get into a back-and-forth about jurisdiction.

The fifth series to be part of the fan-favorite NCIS franchise of shows, the all-new series NCIS: Sydney follows a team of agents from both the United States and Australia working to solve naval crimes around the waters in the Indo-Pacific ocean, what CBS explains is “the most contested patch of ocean on the planet.”
